Critic tasting note: "Alta Catena was the first of the winery’s great malbecs. In its early years (the first vintage was the 1996) it was exclusively from Angélica, in Maipú, and then gradually, especially beginning in 2001, they began to incorporate vineyards from other areas, especially from high-altitude locations in the Uco Valley. This year, the Adrianna VIneyard in Gualtallary, located at 1,300 meters, provides the base of this Alta, with at least 40% of the total blend. And that origin is evident in a wine full of the red fruit and violet notes that are very typical of high-altitude malbec in Uco. It has nervy acidity, very smooth and polished tannins, and fresh and juicy red fruit flavors. A photograph of place." - 94/100, Patricio Tapia - Descorchados
