In the late 1960s, Knoll produced a dining table designed by Warren Platner featuring an Arabescato Marble top and a welded rod base made of bronze pigmented steel wire. Platner previously worked for renowned architects I.M. Pei and Eero Saarinen before creating the Platner collection for Knoll in 1962, where he experimented with the combination of industrial and organic design elements. The base of the dining table boasts up to 400 welds and has been maintained in excellent vintage condition.
