VIco Magistretti's renowned set of twelve dining chairs, the 'Carimate', crafted from stained beech and straw wicker, was designed circa 1960. This iconic piece was originally created in a striking red hue for the Carimate Golf Club in Italy, a space which the innovative Magistretti himself designed. Its popularity led to it being produced for an extended period by four different manufacturers. So confident was Magistretti in the success of this design that he applied for a patent for its construction and joints in 1963. The 'Carimate' chair boasts a strong expression due to its open, architectural frame, while the addition of two elegantly curved armrests adds an attractive dynamism. Magistretti also included a characteristic feature to the frame where it meets the seat, where it subtly widens. It gives us great pleasure to inform you that we have a generous quantity of these sought-after chairs in stock.
