The Cetra chandelier, a stunning piece of Italian Mid-Century Modern design by VIco Magistretti for Artemide in 1965, features two beautiful satin metal bowls and an opal glass sphere. The upper bowl houses three bulbs that cast a gentle uplight, while the opal sphere diffuses the light downwards, creating a soothing atmosphere wherever it's placed. This lamp is in good condition and measures 59 x 115 H cm. Magistretti's genius lies in his use of a sphere section as a diffuser, topped with a geometric section of the same figure, reversed to face the ceiling. The Cetra is a simple yet harmonious piece crafted in lacquered metal, and employs an opal globe that's easy on the eyes - a feature Magistretti had already explored in his previous Omega and Clinio designs, as well as in later suspension versions of the Cetra.
