VIco Magistretti's iconic 'Carimate' lounge chairs, crafted from lacquered beech and bouclé fabric, are a testament to the designer's unique vision and enduring appeal. Originally created in a striking red hue for the Carimate Golf Club, which Magistretti co-designed with Guido Veneziani, the chair has been produced by four different manufacturers across several decades. Confident in the model's success, Magistretti obtained a patent for the chair's construction and joints in 1963. The open, architectural frame of the 'Carimate' chair exudes a bold, distinctive aesthetic, with two curved armrests adding a dynamic flair. Notably, the frame widens at the point where it meets the seat, showcasing the designer's eye for detail. Recently restored and reupholstered in our in-house atelier, these chairs are a charming addition to any collection.
