Starting his career as an architect post-World War II, VIco Magistretti contributed numerous avant-garde designs in the 1960s as a designer. A key pioneer of the Italian mid-century era, his creations such as the Maralunga sofa by Cassina and the Eclisse lamp by Artemide remain popular to this day. This stylish coffee table, also created by Artemide during the 1960s, is formed seamlessly using fiber-reinforced plastic. Its graceful curves and angles are so refined, it's hard to believe it's made of resin. A similar design from the same series, the Demetrio 45 stacking table, can be found in MoMA's permanent collection. While there are some minor scratches due to its age, the table is in excellent condition with no chips. The chocolate brown hue adds to its striking appeal, and a signature can be found on the back.
