This set of six "Carimate" dining chairs for Cassina, designed by VIco Magistretti in 1960, is a well-known example of his work. Originally created for the Club House of "Carimate's Golf Club" restaurant, the chair underwent several changes with different manufacturers until Magistretti obtained a patent for its construction in 1963. Drawing inspiration from the simplicity of traditional countryside furniture, the chair combines straw and wood to form a robust, open-framed design that exudes a strong presence. Magistretti's exploration of material, space solutions, and cultural influences is evident in the chair's timeless aesthetic. With his designs sold globally, Magistretti's work is a testament to his ongoing research and development of innovative designs that go beyond trends. Our atelier has meticulously restored the chairs, which bear slight signs of use and wear that add to their character.
