A set of sixteen dining chairs designed by VIco Magistretti for Cassina, known as the "Carimate" chairs. These chairs feature a striking red lacquered wooden frame and a seat made of straw. Originally designed for the dining room of the Carimate Golf Club in Como, Italy, these chairs went through several manufacturers until Magistretti patented their construction in 1963. Inspired by traditional rustic furniture, the "Carimate" chairs combine Italian craftsmanship with modernist design. VIco Magistretti's work is well-known globally, and his approach to design involves a continuous exploration of shape, function, and materials. These chairs have been carefully restored in our atelier and may show slight signs of usage and time, which only adds to their charm.
