A set of fourteen iconic dining chairs designed by VIco Magistretti for Cassina, featuring a red lacquered wood frame and a straw seat. Originally designed for the Carimate Golf Club in Como, Italy, the Carimate chair has evolved through four manufacturers until Magistretti secured a patent for the design's construction in 1963. Inspired by the simplicity of traditional countryside furniture, Magistretti refined and modernized it, resulting in a timeless and elegant chair that combines Italian craftsmanship with modernist design. VIco Magistretti was a renowned designer of furniture, lighting, and other objects whose work is found globally. His designs display a continuous exploration of project culture, materials, spaces, and groundbreaking experimentation with shapes and functions, always maintaining a timeless appeal. Our atelier has carefully restored these chairs, and although they exhibit slight signs of use and time, they remain in excellent condition.
