This set of ten dining chairs in red lacquered wood with straw seats were designed by VIco Magistretti for Cassina and are known as the "Carimate" chairs. Originally designed for the 'Carimate Golf Club' in Como, Italy, the chairs went through multiple manufacturers before Magistretti secured a patent for their construction in 1963. The chairs are a modern interpretation of tradition and demonstrate the perfect combination of Italian craftsmanship and modernism design, resulting in a timeless piece of furniture. VIco Magistretti's designs are renowned globally for his continuous research and experimentation with materials, shapes and functions, and he collaborated with Cassina from 1960. Our atelier has carefully restored these chairs with slight signs of use and time, adding to their charm.
