The Pantonic Chair, model 5020, designed by Verner Panton and manufactured by Haag in 1992, is an exciting and comfortable piece of furniture. It is a development of Panton's earlier S-Chair, which was initially created for Thonet in 1956 and the subsequent Art Chairs series in 1981. The chair is constructed from moulded plywood and has a blue lacquered finish. Although it is in overall good and structurally sound condition, there are various marks and knocks on the paintwork, including deeper scratches on the seat. There is also some discolouration and wear on the edges. However, we have made some light restoration work in specific areas by closely merging-in some of the scratches with blue paint, which is very localized and not generally noticeable. As we specialize in rare and collectible design objects, we always try to preserve the character of the piece by leaving signs of age and wear, but we also carry out sympathetic restoration when necessary. If you have any further questions or would like to discuss the restoration options, please don't hesitate to contact us in a friendly manner.
