The Rare modular Terrazza DS-1025 sofa in original brown suede, designed by the renowned artist Ubald Klug who passed away in 2018, was created for the Swiss furniture manufacturer De Sede back in 1973. Measuring 156 x 91 x 70 cm, it was designed as a living landscape, with each module forming either a valley or a mountain depending on how they were creatively combined. The Terrazza is now recognized as an iconic furniture piece that radiates a strong personality which adds character to the room it occupies. Its topographical curves evoke an era of artistic expression, such as Mick Jagger's iconic pose on the sofa. Ubald Klug, being a non-conformist, was a student of Willy Guhl and touched all fields of design. In 1970, upon approaching the Swiss furniture manufacturer De Sede, known for their exceptional leather furniture, he was able to propose the Terrazza DS-25 (now known as DS-1025) sketch. However, the furniture had to be made of leather to acquire approval, so he went on to develop a multi-layered upholstered relief which served as an irresistible invitation for people to sit or lie down. The Terrazza's unique design, combined with the best materials, provides both durability and exceptional comfort, making it an outstanding piece of furniture.
