Critic tasting note: "One of the ways that many Uco producers interpret this mountain terroir is through malbec combined with cabernet franc. In this case, Balbo uses 85% malbec plus 15% cabernet franc, both from vineyards on alluvial soils rich in sand and calcium carbonate in the Gualtallary zone in the north of the Uco Valley. The wine was aged for 14 months in barrels, 70% of them new oak. The fruit is what predominates on the nose and palate, but accompanied here by herbal notes that seem to come from the franc. This is a complete wine that fills the mouth with flavors without becoming overwhelming. Fine, firm tannins for sausages." - 96/100, Patricio Tapia - Descorchados
