This round dining table called "Stella" was created by Sergio Rodrigues in 1956 and was manufactured by Oca in Brazil. The table is made with jacaranda wood, brass, and iron, and has dimensions of 122 cm in diameter and 73 cm in height (48 in diameter x 28.5 height in). Rodrigues was a talented Brazilian designer, who graduated from the Faculdade Nacional de Arquitetura in 1952. He co-founded the first modern art and furniture store in Curitiba, Moveis Artesanal Paranaense, and in 1955, he established Oca, a highly influential modern furniture company in Brazil. Rodrigues was commissioned to design furniture for the Brazilian Embassy in Rome, the UNB in Brasilia, and the National Theater in Brasilia. He also worked closely with acclaimed architect Oscar Niemeyer, serving as his interior designer of choice for his buildings in Brasilia.
