This producer has a second wine called 'Segla', please ensure your merchant has the wine you are looking for. Second Growth. Deuxieme Grand Cru Classe in 1855. Previously called Chateau Rausan-Segla. Expert tasting note: "Deep, dark ruby-red color. Fruit on the nose shows restrained red-fruit & violet perfume. The palate initially seems light & displays leafy cassis fruit, however this opens to become concentrated liquorice ripeness. The acidity gives good freshness but the tannins are very firm. Alcohol is balanced & the finish has quite good length. The wine is currently quite backward & brooding but should open well with time." - <i>11/09 DCAMW</i>
