Critic tasting note: "At 15% alcohol even in a relatively cool vintage like 2017, this is a powerful, polished Grenache made by former Torbreck winemaker David Powell and his son Callum from 120-year-old bush vines in heavy red clay soils. The nose is a heady combo of dried plums, toasty oak, cherry cola, cloves and myriad other spices. Barrel influence dominates on the granular palate, but through the cracks peeks silky, concentrated fruit and baking spice. It somehow manages a semblance of elegance amid the power. A singular Grenache that will appeal to big red drinkers. Drink until 2030. Christina Pickard" - 91/100, Wine Enthusiast
