Originally designed by Jørgen Høj and Poul Kjærholm for Thorald Madsen Cabinetmakers in 1952, this ash and flag halyard easy chair is a testament to modernist design principles. By stripping away any extraneous elements and focusing solely on form and function, the designers created a visually transparent, yet striking piece. The chair was unveiled at the 1952 Copenhagen Cabinetmakers' Guild Exhibition, impressing viewers with its progressive style. Today, the chair retains its original flag halyard and has acquired a lovely patina over time. While it does show signs of wear consistent with its age, it remains in good vintage condition. Measuring 25.99 in W x 20.32 in D x 23.63 in H with a seat height of 7.88 in, the chair was also featured in several publications on Danish furniture design. Rest assured, it will be carefully packed and shipped to ensure safe arrival. Complimentary shipping is available within the Netherlands.
