The base of this coffee table matches the PK-31 series by Poul Kjaerholm for E. Kold Christensen, making it identical and indistinguishable. Although it is a rare find and there are no other examples of this coffee table, it is possible that it was a custom order to match a PK-31 sofa, loveseat or set of chairs. The construction and age indicate that it is an original early example by E. Kold Christensen, rather than a new production item from Fritz Hansen. Whether it was a small batch production or a custom order, this coffee table is unique and would be an ideal match for a PK31 Sofa or Armchair. For designers and architects, pairing it with a PK-31 sofa would make an excellent photo for a design magazine. It works well in modern homes, especially Mid-Century Modern, and is durable enough for commercial use. The measurements of this coffee table are H 13" x W 74.5" x D 25.75". It has a newly refinished Rosewood top with French Polish, and the base has a beautiful patina from its age.
