, the "4/3" PH-table lamp is a significant and early model designed by Poul Henningsen and produced by Louis Poulsen in Copenhagen between 1926 and 1928. Crafted from patinated solid brass with opaline glass shades, this lamp is stamped "PAT. APPL." to signify the patent application process. Henningsen created the renowned 3-shaded "PH-lamp" in the mid-1920s, which he acquired the patent for in spring 1928. Pre-patent-production lamps are highly sought after by collectors due to their rarity. This particular model is even more special, as it is taller and made to order without the standard base switch, making it an especially rare find. The lighting angle can be adjusted by turning the socket house, which demonstrated Henningsen's innovation in ensuring no glare from the light bulb filament. The lamp has an interesting provenance, having been acquired directly from the original owner's family, adding to its uniqueness and intrigue.
