This is a unique opportunity to acquire four matching pendants, as there are only two pairs available! There is limited information on the PH Badminton pendant light by Poul Henningsen, but it is believed to have been designed in the 1930s for use in Danish badminton halls, similar to its cousin, the PH-8/6 Tennis Lamp, found in the KB Hallen arena in Copenhagen. Manufactured by Louis Poulsen for the non-commercial market, the Badminton lamp is much rarer than other PH models still in production today, having been phased out in the 1960s or 1970s. The design of the Badminton pendant is fittingly more industrial and utilitarian compared to other lamps in the PH series. Featuring a simple, two-shade silhouette with an interior diffuser suspended from a wire cage, its cone-like form is reminiscent of a playful nod to the badminton birdie. As with all PH lamps, the shades are meticulously designed to diffuse light without dimming it, maximizing functionality and comfort. The pair available is finished in purple and white enamel paint, presenting a bold and colorful aesthetic in a delightful way.
