Louis Poulsen's PH5 Mini Pendant is a contemporary production of the iconic design developed by Poul Henningsen in 1958. The pendant is named after its main shade, which is 50 centimetres in diameter, and was created in response to the ever-changing shape and size of incandescent bulbs. Henningsen lost faith in bulb manufacturers' ability to consider common sense and consumers' best interests, resulting in the creation of a fixture suitable for any light source. The PH5 remained 100% glare-free in any application, and remains a popular choice in modern interiors to this day. In 2017, Louis Poulsen introduced the PH5 Mini, featuring a smaller top shade diameter of 30 centimetres, catering to contemporary and creative living. The PH5 Mini Monochrome series was introduced in 2020, offering a range of matte painted metal shades, including black, white, and ultra blue, for a bold and current look.
