This Pierre Paulin lounge chair is a rare and unique find, perfect for an individual looking for something one-of-a-kind. Its base is made of fiberglass and the frame is constructed from plywood, upholstered with foam and wool. We came across this armchair while purchasing a P. Paulin ABCD 3 seater sofa and a rare P. Paulin 315 armchair from a collector and former Artifort employee, Jos Candle. This lounge chair was bought from Jos' former boss and Artifort manager, Mr. Dentener, directly from Artifort's showroom basement in 1971. Mr. Dentener confirmed that it is a prototype designed by Pierre Paulin, and it bears a hand-marked "Pro" to validate its status. The chair's dimensions and materials are identical to the scarce Paulin single Blub chair, and it even retains the same rifling design. This prototype chair still features the original brown woolen fabric and is in its original state from when it was purchased. It was common to sell prototypes from Artifort's sale basement back then, and this unique piece is a testament to that era.
