Pierre Paulin was a furniture designer who created a pair of side tables in France in 1960, which were manufactured by Artifort. The tables are upholstered with formica and have dimensions of 40 cm x 40 cm x 32.39 H cm (15.75 in x 15.75 in x 12.75 H in). They are currently in a private collection in France. Paulin was educated at the Camondo school and began his career working with Marcel Gascoin in the early 1950s. He later worked for Thonet France from 1952 to 1967 and then for Artifort from 1958. In addition to creating furniture, Paulin was involved in official projects, including the reorganization of the Louvre in 1968 and the development of furniture for the Houses of Culture. He also worked on the private apartments of the Elysee Palace, which were redesigned in 1971-1972 with a focus on reversible decor. Paulin's designs for the apartments featured soft tones that contrasted nicely with the colorful decor created by Agam.
