This is a truly exceptional find - a very scarce pair of first edition "Big Tulip" chairs, model F551, created by French designer Pierre Paulin in 1959 for the Dutch company Artifort. Recently united after over 60 years of independence, these chairs have been lovingly reupholstered in our in-house atelier using top quality Pantera TM foam and period-appropriate De Ploeg Monza 06 Boucle fabric. The chairs' chromed steel bases have been polished, and while there is some slight pitting to the nickel-plated steel due to their age, this only adds to the authenticity of these original early 1960s chairs. Though there are minor differences in assembly due to being from different production batches, this only adds to the unique charm of this rare pair.
