The élysée low table, a rare and significant 20th-century iconic design, is a coffee or cocktail table that holds immense historical importance. This particular piece is an exclusive edition of the original creation by Pierre Paulin for the Private Living Room of President Georges Pompidou and his wife Claude at the Palais de L'élysée in Paris. During his tenure as the President, Pompidou appointed Paulin to design and furnish the Palace's three critical rooms - living room, smoking room, and dining room - in his signature modern style. The table was an evolved version of Paulin's earlier Flower Table, featuring a base crafted in powder-coated aluminum and a smoked glass top. Alpha International edited this masterpiece circa 1971.
