Pierre Paulin's Tulip armchair for Artifort appears to have predicted the blossoming of flower power! The chair takes on the form of a tulip with its half-open petals embracing the sitter in a welcoming and comforting manner. The regal Tulip armchair is incredibly cozy and can be paired with its footstool counterpart for maximum comfort. Artifort retains many of Paulin's timeless designs, including the Tulip, from the 1960s and 1970s in its permanent collection. Occasionally, the collection will be updated with hidden gems discovered through careful scrutiny of the archives. The Tulip was reintroduced in the Artifort range in 2003, and it is available with a rotating disc base or a metal-strip cross-base. Dimensions: The chair base measures Ø53cm, while the footstool measures Ø45cm; Both feature an aluminum molded coquille. The disc base includes a felt ring as a standard feature. Finishes include standard powder coating as well as polished options. The tube steel can be powder-coated or chrome-plated, and the connection-strip between the back and seat can be finished in powder coat or chrome. The cross-base features a powder coat and can also be made of polished stainless steel. Optional felt floorcaps and a matrix pressed, beech-wooden shell upholstered or covered in molded foam for the seat and back of the chair are also available. The Tulip comes with a footstool (P 545) measuring H 45cm x W 72cm x D 52cm, which can either swivel or remain stationary. Grade AA Fabric is used for the upholstery.
