In 1966, Pierre Paulin created an entirely upholstered design that presented a professional and inventive take on the well-known ribbon form. The design featured a metal frame with horizontal springs, covered in foam and stretch fabric, with a lacquered pressed-wood pedestal. It is a stunning example of applied art and is showcased in the National Gallery of VIctoria in Melbourne, Australia. The base of the chair is a multiplex foot with a high gloss lacquer available in Ral 3000 red, Ral 9005 black, Ral 9010 white, or silvergrey. The chair's frame is made of a metal frame covered with webs and cut foam. To ensure the best results, we recommend upholstering the Ribbon Chair in Kvadrat Tonus or a fabric from the Momentum-collection by Jack Lenor Larsen. Other fabrics may result in a number of pleats that cannot be avoided. The footstool dimensions are H 48 cm x W 76 cm x D 50 cm, upholstered in grade AA fabric.
