One of the most highly sought-after designer armchairs in the world is the Orange Slice Armchair by Pierre Paulin, known for its ability to brighten up any room and create a sense of openness. This iconic armchair features two identical shells that give the impression of being curled, as if the chair itself is laughing. In 1952, Paulin first discovered the technique of bending plywood, which formed the basis for the F437 - soon to be nicknamed the Orange Slice due to its resemblance to slices of the juicy fruit. Since its release in 1960, this acclaimed Artifort Classic has remained popular with minimal changes. The base is made of white steel, providing a sturdy foundation for the chair, and is available in either a chromium or powder-coated finish with black plastic gliders. The F437 is the relaxed version, while the F437b is more active, and the Orange Slice Junior is meant for children up to 50 kg. The chair's seat and back consist of two pressed beech shells that are covered in molded foam, with a taller version also available. A matching footstool can also be added to complete the set. The chair is upholstered in Grade AA fabric, ensuring a comfortable and stylish seating experience.
