Designer Pierre Paulin's iconic armchair, the Orange Slice, is renowned worldwide for its ability to brighten and open up any room it inhabits. The chair's most distinctive feature is its two identical shells, which appear to curl and even seem to laugh at the viewer. Paulin discovered a technique for bending plywood in 1952, which formed the foundation for the F437 and its subsequent nickname, the Orange Slice, due to its resemblance to orange slices. This artful and acclaimed classic has been in production since 1960 and is still highly sought after. The Orange Slice armchair is available with a white steel or chrome/powder-coated base, with black plastic gliders. It comes in two versions, relaxed (F 437) or active (F 437b), and a junior version with a maximum weight capacity of 50 kg. The seat and back of the chair are composed of two pressed-beech shells covered in molded foam. The chair is also available in a taller version (F 437b: H 80cm x W 80cm x D 84 cm) and with a matching footstool (P 437: H 43cm x W 74cm x D 45cm), all upholstered in Grade AA fabric. In short, the Orange Slice armchair is sure to add a touch of cheer and elegance to any space.
