Designer Pierre Paulin's Orange Slice armchair is globally recognized as one of the most popular and iconic design armchairs. It lends an airy, cheerful feel to any room it's placed in. The striking feature of this armchair is the perfectly identical chair shells that appear to be curled up, giving off a sense of merriment. In 1952, Paulin came into contact with the bending plywood technique, which became the foundation for his F437 chair. It was later nicknamed the Orange Slice due to its resemblance to orange slices. Since 1960, the Orange Slice armchair has been an Artifort Classic and remains a popular piece of furniture today. The armchair's base is made of white steel, and it's available in a range of finishes such as chromium or powdercoat. The armchair is available in two versions: F437, which is the relaxed version, and F437b, which is the active version. The Orange Slice Junior has a maximum weight capacity of 50 kg. The seat and backrest of this armchair are made of two identical pressed beech shells. They are covered with molded foam and are also available in a taller version (F437b) that measures H 80cm x W 80cm x D 84 cm or with a matching footstool (P 437), which measures H 43cm x W 74cm x D 45cm. The armchair comes with a grade AA fabric finish. Overall, the Orange Slice armchair is a stylish and unique piece of furniture that adds sophistication to any space.
