The LC1 chair came to fruition in 1928, as a collaboration between Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, and Charlotte Perriand. It was later licensed to Cassina for production around 1960. The specific chair being described here is numbered 2724 and was most likely produced in the early 1960s. Despite its age, the chair's overall vintage condition is quite nice. The original brown pony or cow-hide upholstery shows some signs of hair loss on the seat. However, the armrests have been renewed with thick black leather that matches the original design, and it looks quite nice.
