These are six teak library chairs created by Pierre Jeanneret specifically for the Central Library of Punjab University in Chandigarh. They feature a solid teak frame with a lacquered finish and a seat woven from cane. The chairs hold historical significance as they come from the library of Punjab University and have since been kept in the private collection of a well-known fashion designer from New York City. They are also referenced in the book Le Corbusier Pierre Jeanneret: The Indian Adventure, Design-Art-Architecture, Touchaleaume and Moreau, on page 569.
