These early Pierre Jeanneret Office Chairs are truly breathtaking and stand out among the many Jeanneret chairs available on the market. There are several reasons why they are exceptional. Firstly, the wood thickness is perfect and comparable to some of the best examples ever sold. Secondly, each chair boasts a rich and expressive patina. Thirdly, they all come with matching catalog letters. Finally, the chairs have double support bars, making them extremely rare. It is interesting to note that these chairs come from Ahmedabad, which has a rich history in India's textile trade and is also home to Le Corbusier buildings such as The Mill Owners' Association (1954), as opposed to Chandigarh. Dating back to the early-mid 1950s, this set is among the earliest examples of this model ever discovered. Additionally, each of the six chairs features catalog letters and numbers on the back, with five of them sharing similar markings and the other simply labeled with "AC". Currently located in Brooklyn, New York, these chairs remain unrestored but are in excellent condition, adding to their overall appeal.
