This particular chair is a remarkable piece and has achieved iconic status. Despite its apparent simplicity, its proportions are precise and well-balanced. The A-shaped legs are typical of Chandigarh objects, while the L-shaped seat, with thin end beams, makes this one of Pierre Jeanneret's most sculptural chairs. Its patinated teak gives it a strong character that showcases its age and uniqueness. As a historical piece from an UNESCO World Heritage site, it was created by one of the most important architects of the 20th century. We take great care not to restore these pieces too heavily so as to preserve as much of their historical traces and value as possible, especially given the prevalence of counterfeit pieces on the market. Regarding authenticity, we only sell midcentury objects that are authentic. Our owner personally sources these pieces from India, and we purchase them in an unrestored state to maintain their important indicators of authenticity. All wooden parts are original, and we never replace damaged parts with new ones or from other damaged Jeanneret pieces. The patina is crucial, and we strive to preserve as much of it as possible during restoration. Old cracks, scratches, worn lacquer, and other signs of wear and tear are important indicators of authenticity. To ensure authenticity, we include a "Certificate of Authenticity" with our pieces. Our owner is an architecture graduate of the prestigious ETH Zurich university, who focused on Pierre Jeanneret, Charlotte Perriand, and Le Corbusier after opening our Zurich Downtown gallery.
