This set of two Library chairs, originally designed in 1955 for the University of Punjab Library in Chandigarh by Pierre Jeanneret, have become iconic pieces of furniture used in a variety of buildings throughout the new capital city. Currently, I have two of these chairs in stock, but acquiring several more can create a larger dining set. Additionally, two cushions are included with each chair for added comfort. Pierre Jeanneret was part of a collaboration with Le Corbusier and French designer Charlotte Perriand between 1927 and 1940, creating many iconic minimalist designs in industrial materials. Jeanneret's Scissor Chair of 1947, manufactured by Knoll, remains one of his most enduring solo works. In 1950, Le Corbusier proposed their partnership reform for the master plan of Chandigarh, with Jeanneret living on location and becoming a driving force behind the project's success. Many of Jeanneret's most desired furniture designs were created for buildings throughout the city.
