Cassina has delved into the furniture of the city of Chandigarh and introduced the Kangaroo low armchair to the Hommage à Pierre Jeanneret Collection. This collection is distinguished by its simplistic forms and natural materials, finding a harmonious balance between modern European ideals and traditional Indian culture. The Kangaroo low chair was originally made for the General Hospital Hall, but has found its way into numerous private residences. Its unique "Z" shaped sides consist of three triangular elements in continuous sequence. The seat and backrest feature woven material within the wooden frame, available in historic teak, natural oak, and stained black oak from Cassina's traditional carpentry workshop. For added comfort and protection, an optional cushion may be included.
