This table is not only a visually stunning piece of furniture, but a design icon that emulates raw simplicity and expresses pure ideas. Its unique character is both deeply touching and fiercely sharp, limited only to the necessary elements. The table is crafted in Massive Sisso (Indian Rosewood) with a Sisso veneer on top, containing original wooden parts from the mid-century period. The top veneer has likely been redone between 1990-2000. Each table has its own distinct character, setting it apart from industrial designs where every item is identical. The sensual designs created by Pierre Jeanneret are not only timeless, but historical. The patinated teak adds strong character to the piece, revealing traces of age and uniqueness. As a UNESCO World Heritage site item, it is a historical piece crafted by one of the most important architects of the 20th century. Restoration is minimal in order to maintain the historical traces and value, important indicators of its authenticity. As such, only authentic mid-century objects from India are sold, each piece specifically chosen by the owner of the gallery. Restorations aim to preserve the patina present on the piece and to retain important signs of authenticity such as old cracks, scratches, worn lacquer, beam distortions, or oxidation of the wood from people's touch. To ensure authenticity, the gallery adds a "Certificate of Authenticity".
