These two easy chairs are truly remarkable. With patinated teak on both chairs, they display a strong character that highlights their unique age and history. These chairs are historical pieces originating from an UNESCO World Heritage site and were designed by renowned architects from the 20th century. We make a conscious decision not to over-restore these chairs in order to preserve their historical value and authenticity. This is especially important given the prevalence of fake pieces in the market. At our gallery, we only sell authentic mid century objects. Each piece is personally selected by the owner from India, and is sold in its original, unrestored state. This allows for all the important indicators of authenticity to remain visible and untouched. We ensure that all wooden parts are original and do not replace any parts with new or from other damaged Jeanneret pieces. The patina on each piece is highly valued and we take care to preserve it during the restoration process. Signs of authenticity such as old cracks, layers of scratches and worn lacquer add to the unique charm of each piece. It is wise to purchase from experts, as there are many fakes and Chandigarh objects without credible provenance papers. We include a "Certificate of Authenticity" to guarantee the authenticity of your purchase.
