It is made of sturdy teak wood and the version being sold features a right leg in the form of an inverted "Y", which supports a cane tablet. A tablet has been placed underneath the seat for added convenience. The chair originates from Punjab University in Chandigarh, India and is deemed an important vintage collector's item that comes with guaranteed authenticity. A similar model is present in the Swiss National Museum collection in Zurich, as mentioned in the book "Le Corbusier Pierre Jeanneret - L'Aventure Indienne, Design Art Architecture" by Eric Touchaleaume and Gérald Moreau, published in 2010.
