This is a genuine 'Office Chair' from the administrative buildings of Chandigarh (Ref. PJ-SI-28-B) that is in excellent condition after its joints have been restored and cane work replaced. Pierre Jeanneret, a Swiss architect who, alongside his cousin Le Corbusier, designed furniture for Chandigarh's modernist complex, created this chair. With an emphasis on function and order over embellishment, Jeanneret used lighter materials such as cane and wood to imbue the strict geometry of modernism with his unique aesthetic. In addition to his collaboration with Le Corbusier, Jeanneret also worked with other modern masters like Charlotte Perriand and Jean Prouve. This order is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and pre-restoration images.
