In 1955, Pierre Jeanneret came up with an original stool design featuring a wooden seat marked on the side and supported by a three-legged or round metal construction. The stool's exceptional patina makes it a striking piece, and Jeanneret skillfully incorporated traditional handcraft into his modernist vision, adapting to India's 1950s and later settings. The use of local materials like teak, leather, and cane influenced the furniture design, which was manufactured in Chandigarh, India. We have seven of these chairs available, each sold individually at the same price. The playful set has four round-construction stools and three with a three-legged design. As an architect and furniture designer born in Switzerland, Pierre Jeanneret worked closely with French Designer Charlotte Perriand and was a partner of his renowned cousin, Le Corbusier. In 1950, the duo became principal project managers for constructing the city of Chandigarh, India, showcasing Jeanneret's diverse skills and creativity.
