This exceptional teak bench, skillfully crafted by Pierre Jeanneret for Chandigargh, is an absolute masterpiece. Displaying the engravings M.L.A.(GH)-036, it boasts a rectangular seat upheld by two compass-style legs, each connected to its opposite by a crossbar. The bench has been meticulously restored to perfection by India's Jeanneret artisans, who specialize solely in its kind. New caning and cushion have been added, and the bench is in remarkable condition, making it a great find. Originally used in hostels and hotels for civil servants, it was purchased from the Indian government, and all pre and post-restoration photos are available. With a seat height of 18" without cushion and 20" with cushion, this bench is a true work of art. The pre-restoration images found at the end of the listing elucidate its transformation, making it a compelling addition. Find more details about this bench in Jacques Dworczak's Jeanneret Chandigargh Book, on page 176.
