The Armchair, designed by Pierre Jeanneret in the 1950s and recently relaunched in 2019 by Cassina in Italy, is a part of the UNESCO Cultural Heritage-listed Capitol Complex in Chandigarh. The design features a unique "V" support structure and is made of wood, leather, and polyurethane foam padding. The armrests are covered in padding, creating a rounded, geometric shape that offers both comfort and elegance. The reissued version is available in teak, natural, or stained black oak. Jeanneret collaborated with Le Corbusier on the Chandigarh project, and his work combined modern European ideals with traditional Indian materials and techniques. Cassina's I Maestri collection celebrates iconic designs by twentieth-century architects and designers, including Jeanneret.
