The Armchair was originally designed by Pierre Jeanneret around 1950 and has been relaunched in 2019 by Cassina in Italy. A part of Le Corbusier's Capitol Complex, which was added to UNESCO's Cultural Heritage list in 2016, the Haute Cour was furnished with overstuffed armchairs exhibiting a "V" support structure theme. The armrests are padded to create a rounded, geometric shape, offering both comfort and elegance. The reissue by Cassina offers the classic version in teak and two versions in natural and stained black oak. Pierre Jeanneret's work in India, including the Chandigarh project, was a combination of modern European ideals and the traditional Indian spirit. Cassina's I Maestri collection revisits the designs of the 20th century's best-known architects, including Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, and Charlotte Perriand, using advanced technology to manufacture them while preserving their functional concepts. The Cassina Perspective is a philosophy of futuristic design excellence, offering a detailed, expansive horizon of combinations to create authentic, welcoming home atmospheres.
