The Chair, which was designed by Pierre Jeanneret around 1950 and relaunched in 2019, is now being manufactured by Cassina in Italy. This iconic chair is a common sight in the Secretariat offices of Chandigarh's Capitol Complex. The chair features independent solid wood pieces, including sidebars in an inverted "V" shape, supporting armrests. The seat and backrest are crafted from Viennese woven cane and connected to a wooden frame. The chair's simple design highlights the traditional Indian spirit blended with modern European ideals, which was the goal of Jeanneret during his 1967 visit to India. The Chandigarh Project, which was considered Le Corbusier's most mature work, embodies his technical and ideological poetics. The dimensions of the chair are 58cm x 51cm x 81cm, with a seat height of 43cm. The I Maestri collection of Cassina has brought back to life the furnishing designs of the 20th century's most well-known architects. Cassina continues to look towards the future of design with passion and curiosity, creating authentic, welcoming, personal atmospheres with their furniture.
