The 'Seventy-Six' was first released as a tribute wine 30 years after the first vintage of the Koonunga Hill and has been made ever since. Producer tasting notes: "Good depth of a deep redness. Bright. Alluring fruits - vibrant dark black cherry meshed with crushed fresh dark plum. All laced with warm spices - cinnamon & nutmeg. Beneath, scents of just-roasted lamb and rosemary. Aromatically, certainly a wine fighting above its weight. This vintage overtly leads with varietal shiraz, the cabernet weaving all together, covertly propping up its structural underpinning and grip. Contented varietal notes enhanced by an earthy vegetable and tobacco leaf imprint. Medium-bodied - structurally defined, with supportive tannins (rounded, polished) and well-disguised oak." - Penfolds
