This is a one-of-a-kind metal dining table by Paul Evans for Directional Furniture, American 1970, boasting a remarkable design made from bronzed resin and topped with a sleek glass surface. Unique and highly-sought after, this table showcases the extraordinary talent of Paul Evans and has never been seen on the market before. Created using epoxy resin and sand on a original metal and plywood base, the piece features a range of captivating swirls, drips and patterns that have been meticulously sculptured. After being sandblasted, the table received an atomized bronze finish, followed by varnish and smoky torch-blowing for a stunning smoky effect. It was then polished and varnished again. Despite its metallic sheen, the table is very lightweight compared to other materials such as cast bronze. This exceptional work has belonged to a private collection in New Jersey since it was purchased from the artist's studio. A welded "Wavy Front" Cabinet can be seen in Paul Evans’ book "Crossing Boundaries and Crafting Modernism" by Constance Kimmerle, published by Arnoldsche Art Publishers in 2014, although the materials used are different. The table measures W: 62 inches x D: 32 inches x H: 28 inches, with a glass top measuring W: 96 inches x D: 48 inches x H: 0.5 inches, but can accommodate a much larger glass top if desired.
