These exceptional chrome cantilevered chairs were skillfully crafted by Paul Evans for Directional Furniture's Collection 77, in the year 1977. Evans, who hailed from Pennsylvania and specialized in sculpture, metal work, as well as gold and silver smithing, commenced his furniture-making career in the 1950s. He was responsible for designing a range of furniture lines for Directional Furniture, including the renowned Argente, Sculpted Bronze, and Cityscape ranges. Under his meticulous supervision, every piece was meticulously handcrafted and finished, and bore his signature and date. Evans' fusion of handcraft and technology anticipated today's limited edition art furniture, and his work stands out for its singularity and collectability.
