This exquisite Delfi table is in impeccable condition and was crafted in Italy by Gavina. It was designed by the renowned architects Carlo Scarpa and Marcel Breuer. This specific table is made from a rare Bianco Cristallino marble with stunning silver chips, making it a unique piece. The table consists of two monolithic bases and a thick, rectangular top, all made from marble. The top is connected to the bases with sturdy nylon pins, ensuring durability. Originally created in the 1930s by Marcel Breuer for Simon Gavina, Carlo Scarpa added his own variations to the design in 1968. Following this, in the same year, Breuer presented the table to Dino Gavina for his residence in VIa Garibaldi in Bologna. Gavina commissioned Scarpa to make some further modifications to the piece, resulting in this stunning table. Scarpa, a master of detail and materials, is famous for his architectural projects, of which he completed 58, including the Castelvecchio Museum, Olivetti showroom, and Brion Tomb. This table showcases the clear traits of Scarpa's aesthetic language, which combines Japanese minimalism with the organic forms found in nature.
