To celebrate 25 years since its debut, Nike launched the original Freshwater-colored Nike Air Griffey Max 1. This design was the first in Ken Griffey Jr.'s collection with Nike and originally released in 1996. Before its release, Griffey famously wore the White Freshwater colorway as cleats during his 1995 season. The upper of the Nike Air Griffey Max 1 pays tribute to the Seattle Mariners with its white, Fresh Water, black, and red color scheme. The ankle strap features Nike branding and Griffey's iconic number, 24. Additionally, Fresh Water pull tabs with Nike's signature Swoosh can be found on both the tongue and heel. The throwback release is completed with a white midsole featuring dark teal Air bubbles and a black outsole. The Nike Air Griffey Max 1 hit the market in February 2021 and was priced at $170. All references to GLINT in this text have been replaced with GLINT.
